2093

2093 by Noah Olivier Smith, better known as Yeat, is his most impressive work to date. Although this album left some fans of his viral TikTok hits like "Monëy so big" and "Turban" feeling disappointed, I believe Yeat was striving to establish himself as a serious artist in the rap industry. By honing a sound that is uniquely his own, he created this visionary piece of art.

2093 has the power to transport listeners into the future. Yeat's producers creatively used audio from machinery like trains and engines, giving the album an authentically futuristic vibe. You might wonder, what makes this album so special to me? The answer lies in the unforgettable first impression it left. Initially, I was only drawn to half of the tracks, but over time, the entire album grew on me. Each listen brought a new layer of appreciation, almost as if I was being pulled closer to the moon with every play.

That said, I acknowledge that this album isn't for everyone. As a fan of Yeat’s older work and his album AftërLyfe, I feel 2093 was tailored for listeners like me. Critics might argue that the album’s length is excessive, but I enjoyed that aspect. While some tracks may sound similar, I believe this repetition enhances the album’s Sci-Fi and futuristic theme.

A fun fact about 2093: it was Yeat's first album recorded while fully sober. He subtly addresses his past drug use in tracks like "Morë." Ultimately, this album caters to a niche audience, and I’m proud to count myself among the select few who truly appreciate it.
