Quantum Baby
Tinashe is back with a new album, the second part of her trilogy, and it’s fire. It picks up right where BB/Ang3l left off—a killer album that’s still one of my all-time faves from last year. Quantum Baby is in the same lane, super short with just 8 tracks, but it’s packed with quality stuff worth checking out.
“Nasty” was already one of my top fun little dance tracks of 2024. It’s crazy catchy and just a blast to listen to, with Tinashe absolutely killing it. The second single, “Getting No Sleep,” hit different on re-listen. I liked it at first, but now I’m straight-up obsessed.
As for Tinashe’s performance on this one, she nailed it. Yeah, “Red Flags” wasn’t the standout, but it’s still solid. She’s really showing off her versatility here, blending UK Garage and pop rap vibes effortlessly. Even though the production takes a bit of a backseat, there are still some tracks like “Getting No Sleep” and “Cross That Line” where it really shines.
Overall, Tinashe totally delivered with this album. It’s got me hyped for the third one and whatever else she’s got coming. This one’s easily in the top 5 of her discography and was 100% worth the wait. With a bunch of tracks that’ll probably land on my year-end playlist, I’m thinking this album might just get better the more I listen to it. To sum it up, this album’s all killer, no filler.
