Pointy Heights

So, I’ve been waiting for this new Fousheé album all year. Every time she’s been featured on someone else’s track, I’ve loved it, so I was super hyped for this release. But honestly... it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The whole thing is only about 30 minutes long, so there’s not really enough for me to dive deep into. I’ll just keep this short.

Production-wise, it’s solid. You’ve got some big names like Jean Baptiste, BNYX®, and Steve Lacy working on it, and there’s some cool stuff going on, like the guitar solos (which I really liked). It’s a fun listen for sure—her vocals are beautiful as always, and the overall vibe is really laid-back. But the problem is, it doesn’t really break any new ground. Most of the tracks stay within Fousheé’s usual comfort zone, and I was kinda hoping she’d push herself more. She’s got so much potential, and I feel like we still haven’t seen her fully tap into it.

Her voice is honestly one of the prettiest out there, but even that couldn’t elevate the album beyond what it is. I am really hoping with her next project she can break out and fully use her voice.
