Faith of a Mustard Seed

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect from this album since some of the features worried me, but it turned out to be pretty decent. My biggest problem being the inconsistency within the tracklist, it doesnt truly play like a real mixtape or album even. The album is a decent experience, but my main issue is the transition into 2000s-style R&B in the second half. I’m not super into trap and rage, but everything up to track 6 was actually really fun, brain-off vibe music. After that, it slows down a lot, with some lackluster features from Roddy, Thug, and Kodak. Track 14 takes up a long portion of the run time, but I don’t mind it. It’s Mustard talking about his inspiration, upbringing, and acknowledging the positive influences in his life, which is pretty heartwarming. Overall, there’s nothing I’d add to my playlist, but it’s a fun enough listen. It’s definitely set up for radio/stream play with a couple of bangers. If you like what Mustard produces, you’ll enjoy this album.
