Yes, you read that right—Rocky finally released his first single for his upcoming album, DON’T BE DUMB. Since his last release, Testing, I revisited his catalog and fell in love with his work all over again. I can't wait for another release this year.

This is A$AP Rocky’s new song, HIGHJACK. Here are my thoughts.

I got a big nostalgic feel when I first heard the song. It didn’t sound exactly like a "LIVE. LOVE. A$AP" track, but it felt like one. The beat is fun, the flows are intricate and well-researched, and the bars are killer. Jessica Pratt also features on the song. She appears towards the end of the track with some beautiful vocals. In the background, you can hear a children’s choir, which adds a trippy vibe throughout the end of the song. Rocky is known for this kind of stuff, and he delivers once again.

The only thing holding this song back is its length—it’s pretty short. I would’ve loved more of this addicting beat and flow. I feel like he didn’t explore the idea of the song enough. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a very good song that’ll stay in my rotation until the album comes out. Loved this one.
