When Will We Land?

I was talking with a friend about our favorite albums this year, and he brought up When Will We Land?, the debut from Barry Can’t Swim, saying it was his favorite dance album. I’d never heard of Barry Can’t Swim before, so I went into the album with zero expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. The feel-good, tropical vibes are everywhere, and the production is top-notch. Every track feels like it could be the perfect album closer, which is kind of awesome because it means the energy and fun never let up over the whole 42 minutes.

The songs are bright, colorful, and have this euphoric, summery feel that just keeps going. While I found some of the song structures a little simple, the textures and vocal samples really make the tracks pop. It definitely left me wanting more, and I’ll be coming back to this one for sure. If you’re looking for something upbeat to brighten up the upcoming fall, When Will We Land? could be a go-to.
