Soul Burger

Ab-Soul’s Soul Burger is kind of a mixed bag—a solid Hip Hop album, but nothing groundbreaking. It’s got some memorable moments, for sure, but it doesn’t quite hit the high marks you might expect from him. The production is decent throughout, and Ab-Soul’s rapping is on point, but it’s really the features that make or break each track. Some guests totally bring it, adding to the vibe, while others… not so much, and it can mess with the flow of the album.

The standout track, hands down, is Crazier with JID. Both JID and Ab-Soul absolutely crush it on this one, and the production is top-notch—it’s the kind of track you want on repeat. Soul Burger is a little hit-or-miss overall, but it’s worth a listen, even if just for those high points. I still think Ab-Soul has something bigger in him, so here’s hoping his next project really lets that potential shine.
