SMILE! :D

I first got into Porter Robinson with his single “Cheerleader” from this album, and it hooked me instantly. It’s now one of my favorite songs i’ve ever heard before. This song, the album, and Porter himself remind me why I love exploring music. Without it, I might have missed out on Nurture completely. I adored every single leading up to this album, so it’s no surprise that it became a long waiting game in anticipation of this project. With SMILE! Porter delivered exactly what I needed. The incredible, fun electronic production blends perfectly with soul-crushing lyrics about human perception and self-love. It’s rare to see these two elements mix well, but Porter nails it. The soundscapes and textures are insane, and the hooks are fantastic. The album is fun, catchy, and immersive, yet it creates an emotionally draining atmosphere. I love how Porter explores new genres and influences. There are moments of indie pop, indie rock, and even emo experimentation, showing his willingness to push boundaries. With every album, Porter evolves and changes while keeping his signature charm. SMILE! is a huge triumph for him. It’s a cohesive, emotionally resonant album that balances innovation with the sincerity that has always defined his music.Porter's discography already explores so many themes and sounds with just three albums. This release was incredibly important to me, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
