The beat is absolutely insane and easily my favorite part of the entire track; it's what keeps drawing me back to the song ever since it dropped the other day. However, I feel like Nettspend doesn’t really add much to it. His vocals come across as weak and oddly mixed, and there's something about the way they sound that I just can't quite put my finger on, but it doesn’t resonate with me. Perhaps Nettspend's style needs to grow on me over time, especially given how impressive the beat is. On my first listen, I thought, "This sucks, this dude can't rap," but I've come to realize that the issue lies more with my expectations than his performance. If you stop expecting a traditional sound from Nettspend—and from many underground artists, to be honest—you start to appreciate what he's doing a lot more. "2024 Freestyle" was popular because of its basic and familiar structure, making it easier for listeners to grasp. In contrast, Nettspend is experimenting with something different. While his approach might initially come off as strange or unpolished, it's clear that he's trying to carve out his own unique style, which is commendable. It might not sound perfect or even good to everyone, but at least he's not just following the crowd. Instead, he's bringing something original to the table, and that kind of innovation can often take a while to be fully appreciated. So, even though his vocals aren't hitting the mark for me right now, I'm willing to give him more time to grow on me, especially because the beat is so captivating. Whether you end up liking it or not, you have to respect the fact that he's doing his own thing and pushing boundaries in his own way.
