I was expecting a relaxed and reflective song, but instead, I found this crazy fusion of rock and soul that skyrocketed my hopes for Gambino's new album. This song is amazing. The intro has a super sick organ , it adds at lot to the intro being super suspenseful and pretty. Gambino sings with so much passion, and the choruses are epic. Then, synths and pianos start to add layers, and just when I thought the song couldn’t get any more intense, Bino hits us with furious electric guitars and huge drums, rapidly chaning the song into a wild mix of rock and grunge. The soul influences and Gambino's emotional, pain-filled singing stay strong throughout. I also love the acoustic guitar in the outro. I’m seriously filled with anguish knowing that this upcoming album will be Gambino's last as he retires from the music industry. He's one of the most satisfyingly evolving artists out there. He went from the rough rap on Camp to the ambitious sounds on Because The Internet. Then, he shifted away from hip-hop to create the amazing seventies psychedelic funk vibe on Awaken, My Love! With Atavista, he continued to experiment, and now he's given us this incredible grunge-soul track. Gambino is doing what I love most: exploring diverse genres like rock, soul, funk, and psychedelic music instead of sticking to rap. I’ve always appreciated his genre-bending experiments, and if he keeps this up on his new album, I’ll be more than satisfied.
