Goat

Alright, let’s get real for a second. This album is straight-up amazing, but I won’t lie—it took me a few listens to really feel the vibe. But once I did? Damn, I’ve been all about it.

This is my first dive into Goat, and now I’m officially a fan. The way they blend Anatolian rock with those gnarly desert guitar sounds is just next level. The folk elements give each track a solid backbone, and don’t even get me started on the keys—so perfectly placed. Those jazzy moments, especially in “Goatbrain,” totally remind me of Mulatu Astatke. The percussion is on point, adding so many layers to the sound. And let’s talk about the transitions between songs—seriously, they absolutely crush it.

As for the production? It’s top-notch. The volume, clarity, and mixing are just superior. You can jam to this on your phone, in your car, or with headphones, and it all sounds incredible. But honestly, you’ve gotta throw on some headphones to catch all the nuances, especially the percussion—it really pops.
