Elvis
I've never really been into Elvis. Honestly, I've always thought he was way overhyped, and calling him the "King of Rock" just doesn't make sense to me. I do understand the landscape of rock was in a fetal stage during this time but damn, objectively this music is just okay. This album didn’t change my opinion at all about Elvis, just kind of reinforced the respect I had for his fame and strength he put into the genre of rock, not his music itself. It's only like 30 minutes long, but it felt like forever—and almost put me to sleep. I don’t get why people are so obsessed with him; he just comes off as kind of unlikable to me. This record only made me dislike him more. Everything is extremely melodramatic and narcissistic and the music is just meh, the instruments are boring and his voice gets kind of annoying. The only bright spot in this project being Old Shep, which is once again, nothing too special.
