don’t rely on other men
I adore the loop in this song, even though I can't understand half the sounds I'm hearing. The moment the guitar comes in, transforming the track into a stadium soundtrack, is one of my favorites. However, the absence of Peggy's presence is noticeable and makes me less enthusiastic about it compared to others, as I really enjoy his bars about white people. I'm not gonna lie, this song is quite disappointing. While it's not a bad song, it seems to have lost the charm that makes JPEGMAFIA's music great. Despite a strong beginning and ending, it feels overly produced and almost industrial, unlike his previous work where the griminess and uncomfortable nature felt more natural and ingrained. Although Peggy is the sole producer, it feels like he's not the artist here. Even though he's literally on this song, it feels less like him than on LP!, AMHAC, and Veteran. This might be a weird perspective, but it’s just the most "eh" evoking JPEGMAFIA work I've heard yet, second only to "Nick Wayne's Theme," which I really dislike. Without the music video, it feels like a clubby song that's industrial when it doesn't need to be, missing the natural charm of his past songs.
