BLACK FLAG FREESTYLE
I'm ready to dive into this album, recognizing its clear tribute to Three 6 Mafia and the Dirty South. This song and the last one make it obvious. So, take some time to appreciate "Melt My Eyez" because this new album will be completely different in both production and content. Expect a wild, screwed, eccentric Zel trap album heavily influenced by Memphis, and I'm all in. I can already hear the uninformed critiques like, "Why is he rapping like that? Sounds asleep," but those people need to do their homework. Ignore that noise—this album hits hard! The production feels like I've just rolled around in the mud on a hit of LSD while sipping lean to stay hydrated. Zel adopts a contrasting flow to his usual style, with his lines almost seamlessly running into the next. I've been listening to Mexican OT for a while now, and this is definitely my favorite verse from him, perfectly complementing Denzel's flow. While some see a huge quality gap from "HOT ONE," I don't. It just highlights the two different types of bangers we'll get—either the slow, methodical, dreamlike grittiness or the explosive, rapid-fire, nightmarish tracks.
